Who really spends that much on their hair? I did. But it was an accident. Kinda. It's a long boring story. So if you want to know keep reading. It was my birthday. I have always wanted professional color. We have priorities. Hair color isn't one of them.
When I turned 25 I had a hair appt to get a cut and color. Then I thought, I'd rather buy a $10 box, so I canceled the color and kept the cutting appt. Behind my back, Rob called and set the appt for me to get color too. What a sweet man. I had never gotten pro color before so when she was pulling out the foil I wanted to ask why she was putting it in foil and leaving some hair out? Then she talked me into another color. Then shine treatment (because heaven forbid you lose your color after 3 weeks).
The whole time I was thinking and preparing myself for...ready...$125. I almost fell over when I got the bill. I totally got taken. It was all my fault for not having my guard up. I picked up the kids afterwards at my friends house (who I almost died when she told me she spend $125 on her hair once) and called Rob at work crying. He's such a sweet man. He asked if it looked good and said Happy Birthday sweetheart. I couldn't look in the mirror for days because I was so mad at myself.

your hair is beautiful!
I hope you have gotten over the sticker shock 'cause if looks great!
When I moved to San Antonio, the first place I went cost $200 for cut and color. I felt like I had been taken for days...still do! Now I get a cut from a girl in the ward and color from a box. I know how you felt now. : (
Ok, so April is just the girl to tell this story to. She is famous for spending upwards to $175 on her hair. Crazy.
I have to say, I love going to a salon and being pampered but it's totally a manipulative experience. Yes, we know we all deserve it, but when should we get what we deserve and feed the family ramen for the next 2 weeks to pay for it? I SO appreciate a beautician that can respect my no. (Not that I would ever REALLY say no. I'd just say maybe next time and then wuss out and cancel the appointment.) I feel your pain.
I remember talking to you that day. lol...I love your hair but you would be beutiful even if you were bald!
