This morning I was quickly getting the kids ready to head out the door. We almost made it out of the driveway when Claire asked the question that had been on her mind all morning, "Mom, where are we going?" "We're going to have breakfast with friends." She bought it. We show up at the hospital the size of a small city and meet our friends and have some breakfast in the cafeteria.
Then Dallin brought it up...then Molly...then Claire looks at me. I say, "Maybe we should get our flu shots since we're here" Ahh, tricky Mom. She taps her head a few times with her pointer and says, "I think I remember getting a shot before. I don't think this is a great idea." Dang. We talk about how it helps us stay healthy blah blah blah.
I finally tell her that Ian needs a shot and I need her to show him how to be brave. Then the most beautiful words came out of her mouth, "I can do that for Ian, he needs to be brave." Awesome. I love this kid.

you're a good mom... they learn it from watching you!!
Good idea, making her be a brave sister. I prepped Cody for a few weeks telling him we were getting our flu shots. We get them together every year. He watches me get mine and then he gets his. This year after seeing how big the needle was, tells the nurse to not put the whole needle in his arm. "just a little bit". Then while it was in his arm, he said it didn't even hurt. I am amayzed at the things he does for a lollypop.
you are one clever woman-daughter!!!
You are very tricky! What a great kid though, seriously :).
You are sneaky, Jules!
It is a sad, sad day when we can no longer manipulate our children.
What a sweet little girl!
I love it! Be brave for Ian, she can't get any cuter!
