The school districts preschool is a hard one to get into. It is BY FAR the least expensive preschool around. There is a 3 year old and 4 year old class. Only 5 girls and 5 boys are let into each class. Highly coveted.
After not getting in 2 years in a row, I decided to do a co-op preschool with some of the girls in the ward (and other ward) Yesterday was their first day. Claire LOVED it. She had so much fun. She came home and talked about it the rest of the day. Of course Dallin was the best part of school.
When I got home there was a message from the school district preschool. Another girl has dropped out and Claire is in...if we want it.
Pros
Preschool-I don't have to teach once every 6 weeks. It is certain 3 days a week no matter what.

Co-op-Dallin (I'm not going to lie, he's the best part), She will be in school for the next 13+ years, what's the rush? I gave my word, my commitment to these other women.
I don't want to regret my decision. Whatever it is. I don't want to feel guilty about doing the district's preschool. I also don't want the co-op to fall through. IF in February (dead of winter) I am sitting at home wondering if we are going to have co-op that day, I will be disappointed and wishing I had gone with the school district.
They need to know by Friday. If you need me, I'll be praying and pondering.

I went through some of those same issues with Ethan. I am totally doing a co-op and it is way cheaper than anything else I found around here. It is three days a week and I just help on Mondays. Ethan loves it and I like being involved without too much stress.
Good luck with your decision!
So can you do both? How many days a week is your co-op? and are they the same days as the school preschool? We did co-op with all of our kids except Andrew and he went to a woman in the stake who ran a preschool in her home. Some of our closest friends came from preschool plus it's a great way to practice all your teacher skills and it costs nothing! Just some things to think about.
Ahh, the life of a single person - the hardest decision I've made today is what kind of sandwich to order for lunch. Maybe do a visit to the pre-school and let Claire choose???
