Fort Lauderdale

The Bubba Gump shrimp! How funny is that!?

Princess Cays

See these palm trees? I took a snooze under them. I was laying down taking this picture. Life is rough.

I was thinking it would be REALLY cool to make one of these for our backyard.
Princess Cay is on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. It is a gorgeous spot and the kitchen staff comes ashore to cook us lunch and get people drunk.

10 Years

This year in August will mark 10 years of Rob and I being married. But more importantly on February 21, 2001 we met. Every year we make a point to celebrate that day. This year, for our special anniversary, Rob spent it at home with the kids and I WENT ON A CRUISE!

It was AWESOME! My MIL, 2 SIL's and 2 BFF's took a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise. We ate, drank (D. Coke of course,) lounged, played and laughed all without kids!

Highlights include, crawling out of a bar in a dress, being chased by 2 foot iguanas, swimming with hundreds of fish, going sailing with the only sober people on the boat being me and the captain, throwing my sweet MIL and myself off a scooter, going to a beach then realizing people were NAKED!! And eating seafood at almost every meal.

I missed my kids and husband, but more importantly, I was SUPER EXCITED to come home and be the mommy again.

My First Wedding Cake

I LOVE elementery school. This note came home with Claire last week.

You are cordially invited
to attend the wedding of
'q' and 'u'
on Monday January 10th at 10 am
in Mrs. J's classroom.
Reception immediately following.
Wedding cake to be served.
Semi-formal attire is encouraged.
Please RSVP

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the English alphabet, 'q and u' are married. Q can never go anywhere without U. (U however is free to frolic once Q goes to bed. Hmmm.)

This is why I could NEVER home school my kids. They do things in school that my brain could never come up with.

I thought it would be fun to make the cake for the occasion. I think it turned out great.

Lost River Gorge

So for any of you who live in/plan on visiting NH you have GOT to GO to the Lost River Gorge. We went a few weeks ago and it was SO worth it! These caves are down in a gorge and you have to crawl through them. The kids AND adults LOVED crawling and shimmy-ing through the tight spots under 50 feet of solid granite.

If you can't squeeze through this you won't fit in the cave. I fit, whew.
Going down into one of the caves. Super cool.
